Dressage starts at 7.45am, SJ at 8.20am and XC at 9am on both days.

 

British Eventing’s long established Poplar Park Horse Trials, now in its 41st year of running looks forward to welcoming you to our event. We are very excited to be kicking off the new eventing season on the weekend of the 1st &2nd March 2025. We are the only British Eventing affiliated venue in Suffolk.  Profits from this year’s event will go to The East Anglian Air Ambulance, The Riding for the Disabled Woodbridge & District Group and Cycle4Caroline.

A great family day out ... dogs welcome ... food and clothing stalls onsite. Watch all the thrills and spills of competitors tackling 'Eventing', the ultimate challenge for horse and rider ... the precision and harmony of dressage, the skill and accuracy of showjumping and the bravery and boldness of cross country.

Over 41 years the reputation of the event and its cross-country course, planned and designed by Burghley course builder Joe Weller, continues to grow. Some of the world's top combinations are in attendance including World championship individual gold medallist, Yasmin Ingham with the beautiful Banzai Du Loir.  Olympic team gold medallist Oliver Townend is making the trip to Suffolk with a string of horses including his much-loved Olympic partner and previous Burghley horse trials winner Ballaghmor Class.  Sarah Bullimore who won both individual silver and team bronze at the European Championships makes the trip with her pint-sized homebred gelding Corouet.  The ever-popular Harry Meade travels the breadth of the country to compete his top horses including his 2024 3rd place Burghley partner, Cavalier Crystal.  And local girl Bubby Upton, previous winner of the British under-18, under-21 and under-25 titles continues her comeback from serious injury with a number of horses including her Burghley partner Cola III.
